Why force falls faster than muscle size: NMJ NaV1.4 loss and ClC-1 inhibition
Human SFEMG and rodent work in JCI 2026 show sarcopenic weakness can come from postsynaptic NaV1.4 loss at the NMJ, not just wasting. Partial ClC-1 inhibition restored transmission-related force in aged rats; this is not a human drug claim.
